Stephanie Nash has been teaching for over 20 years.
and, yes, even
Steph is also a mindfulness MEDITATION teacher & coach - and founder of Mindfulness Arts ,
a non-profit organization dedicated to "integrative & wholistic approaches"
to "meditation, movement & performance" - with special interest in the practical application
of mindfulness in our lives & creative careers.
Stephanie graduated from the YALE SCHOOL of DRAMA (MFA)
and also studied in England at the British/American Drama Academy
Stephanie has a degree in Psychology & Drama from Duke University.
In Los Angeles, Stephanie is presently an Adjunct Associate Professor
teaching FILM DIRECTORS at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena
(a class which focuses on teaching student directors how to cast, rehearse, and create truthful,
effective actor performances - which the directors must continue to nurture during the shooting process.
Her students also write original material - which they shoot & edit.
She has taught acting & EXPRESSIVE MOVEMENT at USC,
and also taught ACTING & COMEDY at the American Academy of Dramatic Art.
Stephanie trained in the Linklater Voice Technique at Yale, NYU, and Shakespeare & Company,
and also worked with personally with Kristin Linklater (totalling over 5 years of training experience
- although she is not a designated Linklater teacher and she can recommend some good ones.)
In New York she studied acting with Wynn Handman, Larry Moss, and Paul Austin
and taught privately (acting technique, Shakespeare, & on-camera commercial classes.)
As an actress, Stephanie has guest-starred on many popular TV shows (Weeds, Ghost Whisperer,
The Closer, NYPD Blue, etc.) and has performed on stage at LINCOLN CENTER,
the KENNEDY CENTER, UTAH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL,
OFF-BROADWAY, and the 1st NATIONAL TOUR of a BROADWAY SHOW.
She has also written & performed in many ONE-PERSON SHOWS (NYC & LA),
and now coaches solo performers in developing & performing their work.
